Let's establish some facts:
1) I'm not looking for a new job. I've got a good job, which is creatively satisfying and fairly well-compensated, for my tax bracket and socioeconomic standard of living in my geographic region. But if someone from Facebook knocked on my door with a salaried full-time offer, I'd ... well as the title says, I'd give my left nut.
2) I don't really need my left nut any more. I've got 2 kids (almost*), and we aren't having any more after this, so after this one is born I am going to get them sterilized. That gives me two nuts to bargain with for good employment opportunities.
3) Facebook is cool. Three years ago, I had a left nut in reserved for a job at Google. Now... well the stock options would be nice but I'd rather be working on a small team running the best social site on the net than paying corporate dues among a motley collection of acquisitions.
4) Facebook is hiring: http://www.facebook.com/jobs.php - and some of those positions look like they were written for me! I can totally do what they do. PHP, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX? It's surprising they haven't already contacted me.
5) Unfortunately, to work at Facebook, you've got to be in Palo Alto. Shit. Well I think it's about time for Facebook to open a Waterloo office.
So. If anyone from my current employer is reading this, please accept my assurance that I am not going to quit and move to Palo Alto. Hey - who would hack your Regular Expression rewriting rules if I wasn't around?
And... If anyone from facebook is reading this, please accept my left nut.
