another URL kafuffle

Keen readers will note that I changed the URL structure of my blog... again. The last time it was to put the post date and title in the URL (for supertitious SEO reasons). This time, I've added an integer to the end of the url, to satisfy Google News Technical Requirements.

Now most of my indexed pages - 417 of them - are going to get 404 errors. No doubt as a result you'll see my rankings tank for a while.

And since I'm adding an integer to the URL, there really isn't a regular expression I can use to redirect the old URLs into the new ones.

Is the sacrifice worth it? I guess I'll see what the damage is...

in the mean time I'm going to crawl my site and write some manual redirection rules. ciao
